Well, eventually it was bound to happen: Sears has slashed its Kardashia Kollection clothing by 50 %! With some prices as\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nlow as $9.99 The drastic price reduction can be seen both in stores and online. Launched in January, 2011, the brand has not performed as expected, even bombing on Black Friday, 2011.\r\n\r\nThe Kollection was plagued with troubles from the beginning, with a copyright infringement suit filed shortly after the premiere (for some blatant knockoff purses,) followed shortly by Kim’s divorce (the Kollection debuted 3 months before the famous “Fairytale Wedding” fiasco.) If you ever had a chance to view the line, you would have noticed very cheap materials in atrocious patterns and colors, and shoddy workmanship.\r\n\r\nThis line was cheaper than even some of the cheapest clothing at Sears. And that’s not saying much, considering Sears has hit rock bottom in the materials and workmanship of most of its clothing–with the exception of the Land’s End line.\r\n\r\nBut never fear! Those krazy kids have something up their billowing sleeves: the trio “premiered” their collection (yet again) in Australia in September at Sidney’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival. Their design partner Bruno Schiavi is based in Australia.\r\n\r\nKim was recently seen at the Givency show during Paris Fashion Week, in a godawful black dress that was totally wrong for her body type. Not to mention horrid shoes that seemed to chop her legs at the feet.\r\n\r\nIn any event, there are rumors of a kids’ clothing line, and I believe the K’s launched their line with U.K. based Dorothy Perkins stores this past January, which may account for the Sears fire sale…\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSo, don’t go getting all misty-eyed at the prospect that the Kardashian Klan will no longer plague us with bad knockoffs. Oh, they’re krafty, all right, and I’m sure will be around far longer than we would like them to be….just not at Sears.\r\n\r\nBIG UPDATE: Just found out that the Kardashians will be launching a Kollection with Lipsy London this Autumn. This might not mean a lot to most of you, but out where I live, in Easthampton, MA, a Lipsy London store will be opening at the Holyoke Mall at Ingleside in the very near future. So, now I know why Sears stores in Pyramid Management malls wouldn’t want the Kollection at their stores any more. This also means that they are spreading their krap klothing empire worldwide!
