On my last trip to the Holyoke Mall, I thought it was just an abberation when I noticed that the front window of fast-fashion favorite Forever 21 displayed a back-to-school fall collection filled with horizontal striped concoctions and super short hair on its models. For a moment I thought I stepped through a time warp and ended up back in 1984 fashion season<gasp!>…..and then I came across this on Time.com

They call it “Bold Balenciaga”….I call it Utterly Freakin’ Scary Flashback to The ’80′s……
When I see creations like this coming down the runway, I begin to wonder what in the name of the Fashion Gods are designers thinking. They must believe that women really want to dress like their mothers–or, that we want to dress like shades of our former selves.
Now, I like “vintage”, but I’m aghast at the lack of creativity and derth of originality in this design. Seriously.
